THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CASTLE IN SPAIN

Ancient city in the Province of Castilla y León. It is known that the first inhabitants were the Neanderthals 60 thousand years ago and the Romans already mention it in 150 BC. It is known for its great architectural beauty and for the famous Roman aqueduct, which is the best maintained in the Iberian Peninsula. 

The Roman aqueduct has 118 arches spread across 728 meters . Built between the first and second centuries of our era, this aqueduct is still in operation today and supplies water mainly to the Alcázar.

The Alcazar is a twelfth century castle that was completely restored in the fifteenth century for the Court, in this fortress Isabel the Catholic is crowned Queen of Castile. In it, Philip II celebrated his fourth nuptials, the castle was also used as a prison.

The Cathedra´s construction began in 1525 with a Gothic style, although for its sobriety, it has been called the “Lady of the Cathedrals”. Inside its walls are kept a large number of masterpieces of both painting and sculpture.

In its cuisine is worth mentioning the roasted sucking pig, the cochifrito, the veal and the sucking lamb. It is also famous for the Segovian punch and the yolks.
