Toledo is located about 75 Km south of Madrid in Castilla La Mancha and next to the Tajo river. It was inhabited since about 1.000 BC and was already mentioned by the romans in 185 BC.

Its name in latin means “Raised up high”. It was a multicultural city where the three main religions coexisted peacefully. Inside its walls is worth mentioning the Cathedral, the Transit Synagogue, Mosque of Cristo de la Cruz and El Greco´s house. 

Toledo´s cuisine is known for its partridge, cuchifrito (fried pork), carcamusa (veal or pork stew), toledana rice and its famous Mazapan de Toledo (Toledo´s marzipan).
