HISTORY OF THE WAY
The Cup of Jesus’ Last Supper.. The Holy Grail.
It was taken from Jerusalem to Rome by St. Peter, where it remained for two centuries until the Roman Emperor Valerian ordered the persecution of Christians.
Pope Sixtus II entrusted its custody to Saint Lawrence, who sent it to his hometown, Huesca. There it remained until the Saracen invasion of the 8th century and after being protected in several monasteries of the Kingdom of Aragon, it was taken to the Royal Pantheon Monastery of San Juan de la Peña, until it was moved to Zaragoza and finally to the Cathedral of Valencia in 1437, where it has remained ever since.

The Holy Grail is a real Kos Kidush. It is a Hebrew blessing cup (Doctoral Thesis of Ana Mafé García) from the 1st or 2nd century BC.
Since 2014 the Jubilee Year of the Holy Grail is celebrated every 5 years. The Holy Grail was recently used by two Popes, John Paul II and Benedict XVI.
The Holy Grail has been an itinerant relic, and to follow on its footsteps one can travel through much of the geography of medieval Spain, which makes walking the Way of the Holy Grail a religious, historical, cultural, gastronomic and adventurous experience.
THE WAYS
To obtain the Pilgrim’s Credential, it is necessary to walk the last 120 kilometers of the route from San Agustín in Aragón to the Cathedral of Valencia. This route can be done in two stages, one of 7 days and the other of 9 days.
Another possibility is to follow the northern route, or the route of the monasteries, where the steps of the Holy Grail are followed through the monasteries, cathedrals, churches and palaces that housed it during its stay in the Kingdom of Aragon.
